Kapu’uola Hula Festival will be held on May 6, 2017 from 2 – 7 PM at Pu’uokapolei. The purpose of the festival is to celebrate the oratory and performing skills of native Hawaiians past and present through hula and chant. It also aims at empowering composers and choreographers of mele to preserve Hawai‘i’s unique form of storytelling through proper use of Hawaiian language and performance.
This is a free and open event to the public. Hula, Craft Booths, Food and entertainment.
Kā Kapolei Makahiki will be held on December 17, 2016 from 8:30 AM to 1 PM at Pu‘uokapolei to bring together the community in a cultural celebration of plenty and peace. As done in earlier times, and likely on this very site, the day will be filled with song, dance, games, cultural crafts and historic tours of Pu‘uokapolei in the Kapolei Regional Park. FREE admission and parking. Open to the public. Food, entertainment, and Makahiki games for all ages!
